Cool design, is this supposed to be like some kind of creature that was transformed by a virus, like the Flood, or the Mercer Virus

Yes, the Flesher virus is an alien based virus that affects carbon based life-forms. This subject was probably a mixture of human and various other species.

So it's more like the virus from Deadspace in that context. The whole "Virus that forces mutation" theme is very overdone, but you pull it off really well, this would make a great video game enemy
